Thirty Years of Translational Medical Pioneering
NeuroGyn is proud to announce that its founder and CEO, Prof. Marc Possover, has been appointed Chevalier of the Légion d’honneur, France’s highest national distinction

This honor recognizes more than three decades of pioneering work in gynecology, surgical innovation, and translational medicine — a journey that ultimately led to the creation of Neurogune and its mission to transform scientific knowledge into real-world bioelectronic therapies.
A Career Driven by Innovation and Clinical Impact
In the early 1990s, at a time when open surgery still dominated gynecology, Professor Possover was among the pioneers who introduced and advanced laparoscopy in the treatment of complex gynecological conditions. His work significantly reshaped surgical approaches to endometriosis and gynecologic oncology, enabling safer, less invasive procedures with improved outcomes for patients.
Building on this foundation, he later developed nerve-sparing surgical techniques, preserving pelvic neural structures while maintaining oncologic safety. These innovations marked a decisive shift toward function-preserving surgery and laid the groundwork for an entirely new way of understanding pelvic disorders.
The Birth of Neuropelveology
Over time, clinical observation and surgical experience revealed a missing link in pelvic medicine: the central role of the pelvic nervous system. This insight led to the creation of neuropelveology, a new medical discipline dedicated to the diagnosis and treatment of pelvic nerve disorders.
Neuropelveology bridged gynecology, neurology, pain medicine, and functional surgery, offering patients causal treatments where only symptomatic approaches had previously existed.
From Science to Industry: The NeuroGyn Vision
The next step was clear: translating scientific discovery into scalable medical solutions.
NeuroGyn was founded to move from Wissenschaft to Wirtschaft – from academic knowledge to industrial innovation. Its mission is to transform decades of surgical and neuroscientific expertise into implantable neuromodulation technologies capable of treating pelvic dysfunctions at their neurological source.
By developing advanced pelvic neurostimulators, NeuroGyn opens the door to a new era of bioelectronic medicine, where targeted electrical modulation replaces or complements pharmacological treatments, offering patients precision, durability, and restored quality of life.
A Recognition of Past Work – and a Commitment to the Future
The Légion d’honneur recognizes not only past achievements, but a coherent vision: continuous innovation, patient-centered medicine, and the responsible translation of science into technology.
For NeuroGyn, this distinction reinforces its founding values and its commitment to shaping the future of neuromodulation and bioelectronic medicine.
Innovation is not a moment. It is a path.
