In a groundbreaking clinical study, published as peer-review in the Journal of Minimally Invasive Gynecology in 2023 – the official Journal of the American Association of Gynecological Laparoscopists – NeuroGyn has achieved a milestone in the treatment of genital nerves neuromodulation. The study demonstrated that the application of the GNS implantation technique places the NeuroGyn multichannel stimulation’s lead electrode in precise direct contact with the genital nerves.
The parallel alignment in direct contact to the genital nerves allows for both ortho- and antidromic stimulation, leading to truly bidirectional neuromodulation. This opens up new horizons in indications for GNS setting that go far beyond just dysfunctional pelvic organs.
The study also found that gynecologists rated the implantation technique as extremely easy and reproducible. This breakthrough promises an optimized and accessible treatment for patients with genital dysfunctions and marks a significant advancement in pelvic neuromodulation.
